Matt Ruppenthal is an Associate Director at Claritas Capital where he works across the Private Equity and Real Estate platforms to foster investor relationships.

Prior to joining Claritas, Matt played professional baseball as part of the Houston Astros organization for six seasons. During his time with the Astros, Matt also worked with Kinetic Arm, a company that sells arm stabilizers that provide unrestricted elbow and shoulder support. Leveraging his expertise as a professional athlete and pitcher prone to higher injury risk, Matt was able to secure contracts with 15 MLB teams to utilize Kinetic Arm for their athletes.

Matt first experienced the lens of the financial world through internships with Performance Wealth Partners, an independent private wealth firm based in Chicago, and a real estate development group. Both experiences piqued his interest in private equity.

Matt is a proud Vanderbilt University alumnus, holding a degree in Human and Organizational Development and a minor in Business. During his tenure at Vanderbilt, Matt played for three seasons as part of the Commodores baseball team before being drafted in the 2017 MLB draft, electing to forgo his senior season.

In his spare time, you can find Matt spending time with his wife Grace, a former all-SEC soccer player for the Vanderbilt Commodores. Together, they enjoy playing golf and competing on the pickleball court. Matt also takes every chance he can get to spend time with his family back home in Michigan and Atlanta.
